Donald E. (Don) Shepherd

Donald E. (Don) Shepherd, 92 of Palatka, Florida went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at his home. Don was born in Manistee, MI on November 26, 1923 to the late John W. and Violet B. Shepherd. He was a World War II Veteran and served in the United States Army. He was an infantry radio operator in the Army. Don loved woodworking and he built five beautiful homes and a grandfather clock. He and his wife loved to travel. Don was a member of First Baptist Church of San Mateo where he he was a deacon, loved to serve the Lord and sing. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Shepherd of 55 years and older brother, Melvin. He is survived by his wife, Vera Bridges Shepherd of 11 years of Palatka, Fl.; son, Donald Lee Shepherd and wife, Deborah of Madison Heights, MI; daughter, LeeAnn French and husband, Terry of Satsuma, Fl.; brother, Vern Shepherd of Flushing, MI; step son, Sammy Bridges and wife Angelica of Palatka, Fl.; step daughter, LaVera Bridges of Daytona Beach, Fl.; grandchildren, Taylor Shepherd and significant other, Delaney of New Orleans, LA., Emilie Rohrbach and husband, Dale of Madison Heights, MI., Terry Shaun French and significant other Michelle of Satsuma, Fl., Joshua Lee French of Satsuma, Fl.; step granddaughter, Brooklyn Bridges of Palatka, Fl.; great grandchildren Nitaawe and sister, Odessa Shepherd both of New Orleans, LA., Sadie, Eric and Evan Rohrbach all of Madison Heights, MI., Kera Vaillancourt and brother, Devyn and sister, Alexis French. Don's life will be celebrated at 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 5 2016 at First Baptist Church San Mateo, Fl. Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center is entrusted with his arrangements.
