Joyce (Joy) D. Johnson, 71 of Jacksonville, Florida passed away at home on Monday, June 15, 2020 surrounded by her family. Joy was born in Pomona Park to the late Lonnie and Leola McRae. She loved people and was a great encourgeor. She loved to cook, she loved flowers and plants and would even name them after family members. She raised five children and five grandchildren. She loved to fish and was a seafood lover especially of blue crab. She was a member of Victory Outreach Church in Crescent City where she was quite active and was usher and mother. Besides her parents she is preceded in death by her brother, Leonard McCray; sisters, Arnetha Jane McRae, Mary Ann Johnson; son, Marliss Johnson and grandson, Larry Powell III. Joy is survived by her husband of 49 years, Reginald Johnson of Welaka, Fl.; sons, Larry Powell and wife, Sylvia of Deland, Fl., Rodney McRae and Carliss Johnson both of Jacksonville, Fl., Reginald McRae of Georgia, Shoderick Johnson and wife, Shay of Gainesville, Fl.; brothers, Lonnie McRae and wife, Mildred of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl., Clement McRae of Tampa, Fl., Sylvester Johnson of Deland, Fl.; sisters, Edna Mae Brown and husband, Johnny of Eustis, Fl., Sandra McCrae of Niceville, Fl., Theodoshia Johnson and husband, Joseph Walker of Georgetown, Fl.; Gloria Johnson of Deland, Fl.; fifteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. Graveside Service will be Saturday, June 20, 2020, 11AM at Welaka Georgetown Cemetery in Welaka, Florida. Visitation will be on Friday, June 19, 2020 from 3-6 PM at Watts Funeral Home. The family requests that masks be worn. Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in entrusted to the arrangements.
