Charles J. (Charlie) Pitts Jr., 88 of Georgetown, Fl., passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in St Augustine. Charlie was born in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Charles and Eva Mae (New) Pitts. Charlie was preceded by his beloved wife, Dena of 66 years on May 20, 2020. Besides his wife he was preceded in death by brother, Melvin Pitts and sister, Ann Farley. He is survived by his sons, Charles J. (Jack) Pitts, Sr., Jamie Pitts and wife, Rebecca, Timmy Pitts, Eddie Pitts, Danny Pitts and wife, Leola, Kevin Barr and wife, Mimi, and Ricky Barr and wife, Flor; daughters, Charlotte Pitts and husband, Raggs, Carole Looney and husband, David; sisters, Wilma (Sissy) Brown, Minnie Jean Coleman and Edna Ruth Read ; twenty grandchildren, thirty one great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Charlie was a member of the Crescent City Moose Lodge #1641. He enjoyed dancing and spending time with his family. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, December 11, 2020, 1 PM at Beulah Baptist Church with Pastor Roger Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.
