Edna M. Mason, 84 of Crescent City, Florida passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home. She was born on December 4, 1936 to the late Albert and Cora Lawton. At an early age she joined Greenwood Chapel in Greenwood, Fl. When she and her mother moved back to Crescent City she joined Union Bethel under the late Pastor B.F. Haile. She was a strong servant wherever she was needed for eleven straight years. She served as the Chairman of Homecoming Events and always had a strong Christian mind to serve the Lord. After completing and Graduating in 1954, she attended White Beauty School in Marianna, Florida. In the year of 1958 she met and married Mr. Leo Lewis Jr., and to this union was born a daughter, Mrs. Lovata Lewis Slaughter who was the sunshine of her life. Mrs. Mason worked in various jobs from fieldwork to mail carrier. She retired from Putnam County Transportation Department after she got ill. She always loved to cook and among her hobbies she enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Mr. Louis Brooks and Mr. Claxton Bowels; and sister, Mrs. Josie Edwards. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving devoted daughter, Lovata Lewis Slaughter and husband, Prince of Crescent City, Fl.; four grandchildren, Kimbre Johnson, Kayla Addison and husband, Fred, Bryan and Deryl Johnson ; four great grandchildren, Quatreviev Francis, La’Khya Addison, Talia Hankins, Tyra Hankins, and one great great grandchild, Amiyah; a loving and devoted cousin, Jamica Passmore and husband, Kenny; loving nephew, Vincent Whitaker; two loving friends, Shirley Dudley, Jewel Kelly; and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Mason Life will be celebrated on Friday, September 10, 2021, 2 PM at Watts Funeral Home and Cremation Center In San Mateo, Florida.
